Hillfoots exited at the first hurdle of the cup.A poor first half performance saw the visitors leak 4 tries before half time.Hillfoots started well but couldn't turn pressure into points.Lasswade gradually pulled themselves in to the game and 2 converted tries eased the homesides nerves.A third score shortly afterwards put the homeside 21-0 ahead and rout was looking to be on the cards.Hillfoots bounced back and after a period of pressure,Lasswade were caught offside.A quick tap penalty was taken and Dave Cree crashed over in the corner.Lasswade finished with their fourth try of the game on the stroke of half time.

The second half saw a much improved performance from the visitors.Hillfoots tightened up their defence,which had seen too many first up tackles being missed.Play moved from end to end,but it was the homeside who scored the only points of the half with their fifth converted try.
